Näyttävä galaksipari. M60 näkyy pyöreänä sumuna, jossa on kirkas ydin. Ytimen eteläreuna on kirkkaampi kuin keskus, joskin sen havaitseminen ei ollut aivan helppoa. M60:n vieressä on himmeämpi NGC 4647, joka näkyy piirteettömänä soikeana sumuna.
